Welcome to my Blog! What a thrill to have so many family, friends and colleagues drop by for a visit! This is our first of 3 blog hops. I hope you’ll visit all my classmate’s blogs too.
I have finished my first piece, for my new line of jewelry. I have chosen to do a line of bracelets. I’m doing them in the assemblage style. I really love designing them. Making something totally new always inspires me. Though that doesn’t always end well though…
I find artistic inspiration everywhere on our island. Something that always inspires me is BIRDS! Their song and flight are amazing. Their glorious freedom. I LOVE feeding, watching, sketching and photographing them. And yes, I talk to them. Doesn’t everyone? Their beauty is unsurpassed. I live at the base of Mt. Tolmie. Every type of local bird lives or hunts literally in my backyard. Our teacher and mentor, Brenda Sue Landsdowne, carries all kinds of beautiful metal bird stampings in her store. I was so thrilled to see so many! I just knew I had to start creating with them. Here’s a picture of some of the birds in my collection :
I have my first Bird Bracelet done. What a blast! I am very new to making these cuffs. I look forward to learning from each new cuff I make. And from all the stupid mistakes I make too! It’s amazing how many goofs ups you can make on such a small piece. Plus me and glue, are not the best of friends. Below is a picture of my first piece. We will be making a minimum of 5 pieces for the Build a Line Master Challenge. Our classes have exceeded my imagination. I adore the topics we get to study each day. I am truly blessed. I love to learn, and I love school!
Well, I’m off to meet some new local birds. I’ll have to see if one of them whispers to me. You really have to listen! Thanks VERY much for stopping by. Below is the list of my classmates blogs. Please visit them too! I know I’m excited to see what everyone’s been making. We haven’t been allowed to know each other’s theme till this blog hop. I love surprises….See you on the second blog hop!

Oh your line is going to be so fun, Chris! I can’t wait to see how you develop it. Since I’m under a canopy of trees, the birds here are abundant and always entertaining. What a fun topic to build a line around. Great blog, too. Looking forward to your next post!

I admit that I had to google Mt. Tolmie – what beautiful country. I also love birds. We live in a rural lake area and see many different birds.
Your bracelet is beautiful! I look forward to seeing more of your ‘conversations’ with birds.
